PlaceholderJoe Allen

President

Way back in 1992, Joe started Power Shift as a computer services company in Montreal, Canada. In 1995, Joe sold the computers-portion of the biz, packed up his gear, and moved to Stowe to focus Power Shift on internet services. By the year 2000, Joe expanded the company into the national realm by offering services such as dial-up and email. He’s been growing and sculpting Power Shift ever since, steering it towards web design and development. He even fashioned a custom vertical keyboard and touchpad out of cardboard, staples, and Velcro. Take that, MacGyver!

In his spare time, you can spot Joe hugging his BSA Thunderbolt and Norton Commando motorcycles, both of which he considers part of the family.

PlaceholderNick Larow

Lead Design & Development

Nick grew up immersed in art and technology. After school, he was tossed around the North Atlantic on a long-line fishing vessel and outfitted ships out of Portland Harbor, Maine. Advances in technology beckoned him back, and after years of freelancing and graphic design work, Nick joined up with a local Stowe VT security company HSMC, creating and supporting their intranet, online services, website and dispatching for emergency services. He took his role at Power Shift in 2008, and continues to argue that sleep is a vestigial organ.

Nick is is a fan of media technology, design & typography, gaming, reading and electronic music.

PlaceholderBreanna Larow

Project Manager

A roommate showed Bre a copy of Photoshop in 2001, and from that day onward, she's been deciphering its secrets. Before Power Shift, Bre shepherded websites and created graphics for art galleries and jewelry designers, among others. She also did some freelance design, sharing her graphical wizardry with the internet.  Here in the Stowe Professional Building, where Power Shift calls home, Bre watches over every web project with a meticulous eye. Got a question? She can probably answer it. Unless it's a math question.

After Bre clocks out, she hangs with her kids and family, reads about fantasy, physics and history, plays video games, and draws.

PlaceholderLarissa Kepchar

Web Designer

From the early years, Mount Mansfield entranced Larissa, slowly turning her into a pro snowboard bum (lousy pay, but terrific benefits). Eventually, she escaped the mountain’s wintry tractor-beam and hightailed it to Florida, where she earned a degree in multimedia and web design from The Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale. Upon graduation, she traveled back to Vermont. After four years as a webmaster at an online ski store, she transferred to Power Shift as a web designer.

When her feet aren’t planted firmly on a snowboard, Larissa dabbles in photography and mingles with her prized horse, four geese, and two alpacas.

PlaceholderCory Melton

Systems Administrator

If you ever found yourself stranded in a blizzard atop Smuggler’s Notch, Cory could guide you to the bottom in a minute flat, blindfolded. After eight years of lift operations duties, he hung his Smugg’s gloves and goggles up for good, and ventured forth to a new career in IT. He’s been with Power Shift ever since, working his way up from tech support to almighty master of hardware and software. He gets approximately one billion emails daily.

Cory fancies himself a connoisseur of videogames, reading, and PC tinkering.

PlaceholderTucker Dunlavey

Sales & Marketing Manager / Support Specialist

Upon graduation from Vermont’s Lake Region high school, Tucker hop-scotched down to Florida for his Bachelor’s in Computer Animation from Full Sail University. Fulfilling Power Shift’s mandate that all employees must have moved to Florida and then came back (apparently), Tucker strives to bring the Northeast Kingdom into the 21st century by unleashing a precision strike of computer graphic & web-design knowledge-bombs. And yeah, those are snow tires on his car, in the summer, and Tucker’s very much okay with that.

After a hard day’s work, Tucker’s all about PC Gaming, playing guitar and piano, and spending time with his son.

PlaceholderAndrea Lemieux

CFO

Andrea's probably done every Power Shift job at some point - accounting, support, building maintenance, grilling - you name it. Prior to starting at the company, Andrea worked as a plumber's helper for a large business in Georgia, performed tasks as a CSR for a call center in Derby VT, then laced up her shoes for college and pursued an associate's degree in web design. Her avant-garde method of holding a PC mouse backwards never caught on with the rest of the staff though.

Andrea adores backpacking, hiking, gardening, fixing up the house, woodworking, cake decorating, and cheering like crazy as her son steps up to the T-ball plate.
